Riot Games has sent a personalised wedding gift to a couple who first met through League of Legends, after a family member reached out to the studio's support team. A Twitter user, lronelia, explained that she had contacted Riot Support hoping to secure a simple congratulatory message for her sister and her fiancé ahead of their wedding on Saturday, June 13. Instead, Riot went considerably further, putting together a custom LoL-themed package for the couple. The two reportedly met around 12 years ago, placing it near Season 4, and have continued playing together ever since.
What Riot Sent
The gift centred on League's most iconic in-game couple, Xayah and Rakan. The pair received a message featuring artwork of the two champions, reading: "Congratulations on your wedding! 'Magic is in the heart. Magic is in the Rhythm.' Hoping that your hearts dance to the same rhythm, just like their recall," a nod to the duo's signature shared recall animation. Alongside the message came a wooden box engraved with the couple's in-game usernames and the same Xayah and Rakan artwork on the front.
According to the family member, who had already peeked inside, the box contains a plaque depicting Summoner's Rift, League's primary map, topped with the message "we met here" and the date the couple first added each other in-game. The package also included personal handwritten notes from various Riot staff members. Notably, the couple are currently ranked in Gold and Emerald rather than at the top of the ladder, a small detail that puts to rest any notion that reaching Challenger is a prerequisite for the gesture.
