Jessica Jung, former project manager lead at Niantic, has joined Supercell to spearhead the company’s first-ever AI Innovation Lab, marking a significant move by the mobile gaming giant into artificial intelligence-driven entertainment.
Announcing the news via LinkedIn, Jung revealed she would be establishing and leading the San Francisco-based lab, after receiving “an offer that [she] couldn't refuse.” The move aligns with Supercell’s broader ambitions to push boundaries in AI and interactive entertainment.
“It was clear that Supercell is looking to explore at the edge of what's possible with AI and build completely new entertainment categories,” Jung shared. “Just as they disrupted the gaming ecosystem over a decade ago with mobile, Supercell is positioned to become innovators once again.”
Prior to joining Supercell, Jung had been focused on launching her own AI startup. The project centered on developing consumer-facing AI models, including multimodal agents and tools geared toward cognitive wellness. She also played a key role at Niantic, contributing to the development of its AR-based virtual pet app.
