PARIVISION are champions of the Dota 2 Esports World Cup. In a grand final contested entirely between two Eastern European powerhouses, the tournament favourites overcame regional rivals BetBoom Team 3-1 on July 19 to lift the trophy in front of the Paris crowd, banking $750,000 from the $2 million prize pool along with 1,000 EWC Club Championship points. BetBoom settle for second and a still-substantial $340,000.
A Final That Started Wobbly, Then Wasn't Close
BetBoom drew first blood, taking a scrappy opening game after MieRo put on a standout Timbersaw display, and for a moment it looked like the underdogs might push the favourites. That was as good as it got for them. Whatever coach Clement "Puppey" Ivanov said to his players after that loss clearly landed, because PARIVISION rattled off three straight games to close the series out. The final map was a demolition, PARIVISION storming to a 29-7 kill lead in around 36 minutes, with Satanic's Lifestealer topping the scoreboard. There was a nice sub-plot too, with the win falling on 9class's 23rd birthday.
Puppey's Fingerprints Are All Over This
The detail the raw result obscures is just how dominant PARIVISION's whole campaign was, and how much of their turnaround traces to a coaching change. This is their second Tier 1 title of the 2025-2026 season after DreamLeague Season 29 in May, and crucially both have come since living legend Puppey stepped into the coaching role back in January. Under his guidance, PARIVISION didn't drop a single series across the entire tournament, topping their group ahead of Team Spirit and bypassing the gruelling Survival Stage entirely. On the way to the final they dispatched Rune Eaters and then edged Team Yandex 2-1 in what amounted to an early final between the world's top two ranked sides. It also snapped a notable streak, since BetBoom had actually held a mental edge in recent meetings, with PARIVISION having failed to beat them across five prior matches dating back to February.
The Real Prize Is Momentum
As satisfying as the trophy and the cheque are, the timing is what makes this victory so significant. The Dota 2 EWC was the final Tier 1 event of the season, and it served as the last major test before The International 2026 arrives in August, the sport's biggest and most prestigious tournament. Winning the last big one before TI, undefeated, against the best the region has to offer, installs PARIVISION as the clear frontrunners to lift the Aegis of Champions. Eastern European sides locked out the entire top three here, with Team Yandex taking third, underlining once again that the region continues to produce Dota's most formidable competition. For PARIVISION, the challenge now is carrying this aura into August, where the pressure of favouritism at The International has undone many a dominant team before them.
