Ubisoft has unveiled a restructuring proposal for its Helsinki-based RedLynx studio, a move that could lead to significant changes in the developer’s operations and workforce.
The plan is part of Ubisoft’s wider initiative to streamline its global network, reduce costs, and improve efficiency across its various studios. According to the company, the restructuring would shift RedLynx’s focus from being a multiplatform studio to one “specialised in small screens,” emphasizing mobile game development.
If approved, the proposal could impact up to 60 employees, primarily those in production and administrative roles. Ubisoft confirmed that the restructuring would not affect the technology team working on the company’s proprietary Snowdrop engine.
RedLynx, best known for its Trials racing series, has been part of Ubisoft since 2011. The studio’s most recent project, the mobile game Gwen’s Gateway, was canceled in December 2024.
Ubisoft stated that before any final decision is made, collective negotiations with RedLynx employees will be held. These talks began on October 20, 2025, and are expected to conclude by the end of November.
In a statement, RedLynx managing director Celine Pasula acknowledged the challenges behind the proposed changes:
“This proposal reflects difficult choices we may need to make, and it comes after careful consideration.”
