Riot Games has unveiled a new initiative allowing Twitch subscriptions across various channels broadcasting League of Legends esports. This move aims to enhance the viewing experience for fans while also supporting the leagues and teams involved.
Subscribers will receive a range of benefits, including ad-free viewing and access to a Subscriber-only chat, where they can participate in exclusive discussions during broadcasts.
Additionally, Tier 1 subscribers will earn exclusive in-game rewards. For the first Split of 2025, the reward will be the ‘Why Though?’ emote. The initiative launched with the LCP’s Japanese Twitch channel, with plans to expand to other LCP channels, the LEC, LTA, and LCK between January 15th and January 18th.

To qualify for the rewards, subscribers must pay for or receive a gifted subscription. Prime subscriptions are not eligible for these rewards.
The emotes earned by subscribers can be used across other Twitch channels as well. According to Riot Games, this initiative offers fans a meaningful way to directly support their favorite leagues, with a portion of the revenue generated from Twitch subscriptions going to the Global Revenue Pool, which helps support Riot Games’ leagues and teams worldwide.
