Riot Games has announced that Taipei, Taiwan will host its upcoming League of Legends APAC league. Set to launch next year, the league will pit teams from Vietnam, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Macao, Japan, Oceania, and Southeast Asia, replacing the existing four regional leagues.
Taipei held events before; it was where Taipei Assassins clinched the second-ever World Championship and where the renowned Flash Wolves showcased stars like SwordArt, Maple, and Karsa.

In addition to choosing Taipei as the league's home, Riot Games has revealed more details about the league's structure. The league will feature eight teams divided into two categories: partnered slots and guest slots. Partnered slots will be reserved for four teams selected through a process, offering permanent placement similar to Riot’s VALORANT Champions Tour leagues. Guest slots will be open to promotion and relegation at the end of each season.
