Rockstar Puts NoPixel on Its Own Launcher From 8 September

This is what they aimed for, for years.
NoPixel V will enter closed beta on 8 September, playable through the Rockstar Games Launcher rather than FiveM.
Founder Koil announced it to the server's Discord as expected "On September 8, NoPixel V will be available in Closed Beta to select participants on the Rockstar Games Launcher. This is a big step for the Grand Theft Auto Roleplay community, and it took a full rebuild of NoPixel to get here."
Rockstar's own framing "the boundaries of GTA Roleplay through character immersion, modifications to the GTAV map, and a creative community of dedicated storytellers."

You almost certainly can't play it
Access is invite-only right now, roughly 439 content creators and established roleplayers, rolled out in phases. There's no application process yet.
For everyone else, 8 September means watching. Rockstar's pitch is explicitly that: tune into Twitch and Kick to see the NoPixel community continue in Los Santos with familiar faces and new ones.
Koil left the door open for later waves of players "While the first phase of invites is nearly complete, it's just the first group. If you haven't received an invite yet, you haven't been ruled out."
NoPixel Public and NoPixel 4.0 will keep running.
What's in it
It is more of a full rebuild rather than a patch.
- The Mile High Club, unfinished since 2013, completed as the Pixel Hotel & Casino
- Cypress Flats added
- Over 1,000 properties
- Overhauled character creation
- Smarter, more reactive pedestrians
- Refreshed visuals and new ways to make a living
A trailer premiered on 1 September ahead of the beta.
The FiveM connection
Rockstar recently bought Cfx.re, the team behind FiveM and RedM, in 2023. NoPixel runs on FiveM. This was the logical end of that acquisition the biggest server on the platform moving onto Rockstar's own launcher with official backing.
The complaint underneath
Reception hasn't been uniformly warm, and the reason has nothing to do with NoPixel.
Rockstar has said still nothing about GTA 6 multiplayer. The Extended Look covered single-player. Rockstar has described the launch build as a single-player experience. Meanwhile the studio is actively promoting roleplay content for a thirteen-year-old game.
GTA Online launched roughly two weeks after GTA V in 2013 and was a mess for weeks, so a staggered rollout for GTA 6 wouldn't be unusual. Rockstar has confirmed nothing either way, and with 19 November approaching, the silence is what people are reacting to.
