Shopify Rebellion created one of the best rosters.

The 2027 lineup will be Massimo “Atomic” Franceschi, Daniel “Daniel” Piecenski and Jason “Firstkiller” Corral, with Matthew “Satthew” Ackermann coaching.

Atomic, Daniel and Satthew are joining from the NRG roster that won the 2025 World Championship. Firstkiller has been at Shopify since September 2025.

Firstkiller is among the most prestigious names North America has produced but has never taken an RLCS LAN title. Atomic and Daniel had great 2 seasons never finishing below fourth at any RLCS event, domestic or international. He and Atomic were rivals through most of their careers, having played together as kids.

Why the trio broke

2026 was regionally great and internationally mediocre.

They had three NA Open wins. Third-fourth at the Boston Major. Then ninth-twelfth at both the Paris Major and the Esports World Cup, which for a defending world champion is a collapse. At Worlds they managed to top their group before going 0-2 in playoffs, losing to FUT and then eventual champions Team Falcons.

Landon “BeastMode” Konerman has gone to Gen.G Mobi1 Racing, coached by ApparentlyJack, which sets up a regional rivalry with his former teammates.

The field they’re walking into

The 2027 season will replace the old structure with the RLCS Club Championship, a semi-franchised system of 20 partnered teams and a 2.5 million dollar prize pool across its events.

It opens with the Kick-Off in London from 9 to 13 December, which functions as a hard deadline for roster announcements. That explains the volume of news this week.

North America puts Shopify against Spacestation Gaming, FUT, NRG and Gen.G.

The bigger problem is global scene. Gentle Mates announced Vatira, Atow and zen the same day, under the caption “LES 3 MONSTRES SONT ENFIN RÉUNIS.” Three of the best French players in the game on one roster, assembled with the obvious expectation that anything short of winning is failure.

Falcons are the reigning world champions.
