Tencent has become the majority shareholder of Wuthering Waves developer Kuro Games. Tencent now owns a 51.4 percent controlling stake in the Chinese studio, making it the sole external shareholder. Kuro's leadership confirmed the news in an internal memo to employees.

Tencent reportedly reassured Kuro that it will continue to operate independently, while Kuro stated that the change will provide a more stable external environment. Founded in 2014, Kuro Games has released several titles, including Punishing: Gray Raven and Twin Tail Battleground.

Tencent has become one of the most significant spenders in the gaming industry, acquiring stakes in major companies like Epic Games, Remedy Entertainment, Techland, FromSoftware (via parent company Kadokawa), and Krafton. Additionally, it wholly owns notable development studios, including League of Legends maker Riot Games and British video game group Sumo Group.
