Ubisoft has finalized Tencent's €1.16 billion investment in Vantage Studios, the division responsible for some of the company's most iconic franchises, including Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, and Rainbow Six.

Vantage Studios officially began operations on October 1, and includes Ubisoft's offices in Montréal, Quebec, Sherbrooke, Saguenay, Barcelona, and Sofia. The division employs approximately 2,300 staff members worldwide. Following the completion of the deal, Tencent now holds a 26.32% stake in Vantage Studios, although Ubisoft continues to maintain control of the division.

In a statement, Ubisoft disclosed that Vantage Studios carries a "pre-money enterprise value of €3.8 billion," marking a significant milestone in the company’s ongoing transformation. Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot praised the deal, stating, “Today’s closing crystallizes the value of our world-class IPs and marks a pivotal milestone in Ubisoft’s ongoing transformation. It also brings in €1.16 billion of proceeds that deleverages the Group, strengthens our balance sheet, and will support selected investment opportunities across the rest of the company.”

Guillemot further emphasized that Vantage Studios represents a key part of Ubisoft’s strategy to accelerate the growth of its major franchises, with the goal of turning them into "annual billion-euro brands." The studio operates under a dedicated leadership team, with an emphasis on autonomy, player focus, and clear accountability.

Tencent’s President, Martin Lau, also commented on the partnership, expressing excitement about the future of Vantage Studios. “Tencent is delighted to be building on our strong relationship with Ubisoft through this investment in the launch of Vantage Studios,” said Lau. “With its capable team and world-class creative vision, we look forward to Vantage Studios accelerating the growth of Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, and Rainbow Six as evergreen platforms providing entertainment and inspiration to generations of players.”
