YouTube has suspended monetization on Dr Disrespect's channel following recent allegations surrounding his permanent ban from Twitch. The controversy has had a profound impact on the career of the YouTube star, getting criticism from fans and fellow creators alike and resulting in the termination of several partnerships including Turtle Beach.
Dr Disrespect, who moved to YouTube after his suspension from Twitch in 2020 and amassed a significant following of 4.7 million subscribers, has seen a notable decline in subscribers by over 30,000 in recent times, underscoring the substantial fallout from the controversy.

Just months before his ban, Dr Disrespect had signed an exclusive multi-year deal with Twitch. Discord, another platform popular among gamers, also banned Dr Disrespect on the same day as Twitch, though no specific reason was provided.
In August 2021, Dr Disrespect announced he was taking legal action against Twitch after learning the reason for his suspension months earlier. In March 2022, he disclosed on social media that he had resolved his legal dispute with Twitch without either party admitting wrongdoing, and clarified that he would not be making a return to the platform.
