Electronic Arts (EA) has announced the postponement of the highly anticipated Battlefield REDSEC Elite Series due to an unforeseen technical issue. The delay will affect all three regions participating in the competition, including the Americas, EMEA (Europe, the Middle East, and Africa), and APAC (Asia-Pacific).

In a statement shared via social media, the official Battlefield account explained, “After a thorough review, due to an unforeseen technical issue that impacted the integrity of the competition, we’ve made the difficult but necessary decision to postpone the Battlefield REDSEC Elite Series in all regions.”

Originally slated to take place between December 10th and December 18th, 2025, the Battlefield REDSEC Elite Series was designed to showcase top-tier competitive play in Battlefield esports. However, in-game issues reported by players and creators prompted EA to take the difficult step of delaying the event.

At present, no new dates have been confirmed for the rescheduled tournament, but Electronic Arts has pledged to provide updates in the new year. The developer reiterated its commitment to building a competitive esports scene for Battlefield, stating that it remains “fully committed” to creating a competitive scene “built to last.”

While the announcement has caused frustration among some of the professional players involved, others have expressed support for the transparency shown by EA in handling the situation. The postponement has sparked mixed reactions across the community, with some players voicing their disappointment, while others, including content creators, appreciated the openness regarding the challenges the tournament has faced.

The delay marks a difficult start for Battlefield’s esports ambitions. Earlier this year, EA revealed its plans to invest in the Battlefield esports scene with a $1 million circuit, aimed at elevating the franchise’s competitive landscape. The Elite Series, a key element of this initiative, was expected to feature high-stakes competition and serve as a foundation for future events, with an amateur Open Series also planned.
