Atlanta FaZe, the esports franchise owned by FaZe Clan, has emerged victorious at the 2025 Call of Duty League (CDL) Major 1 in Madrid, Spain.
The tournament, hosted by fellow CDL franchise Toronto Ultra at the Caja Mágica, saw Atlanta FaZe edge out the Los Angeles Thieves in a dramatic Grand Final that came down to the final round of the final map. Over the past five days, all 12 CDL teams competed in a double-elimination bracket, battling for crucial CDL Points and a share of the $375,000 (£304,783) prize pool.
Atlanta FaZe's path to the Grand Final included wins over Boston Breach and host franchise Toronto Ultra in the first two rounds of the upper bracket. They then secured their place in the final by defeating LA Thieves in the upper bracket final.

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Thieves fought their way through the lower bracket, eliminating the Carolina Royal Ravens and the Miami Heretics to earn a rematch with Atlanta FaZe. The Grand Final was played in a best-of-seven format and ended in a nail-biting game seven, where Atlanta FaZe clinched victory in the eleventh and final round—one of the closest matches in CDL history.
This win marks Atlanta FaZe’s sixth Call of Duty League Major title. In addition to their Major victories, the franchise has also claimed the Call of Duty League 2021: Playoffs championship and the Esports World Cup 2024 title.
