Cloud9 Kia has entered into a new collaboration with Conviction, joining forces for the remainder of the 2025 League of Legends North American Challengers League (NACL) season. The partnership aims to strengthen Conviction’s competitive performance through coaching and strategic support from Cloud9’s seasoned staff.
As part of the alliance, Cloud9 will provide coaching resources led by Strategic Coach Marius “Veigar V2” Aune and Assistant Coach Nicholas “Inero” Smith. According to a statement shared on social media, Cloud9 emphasized that the partnership is a continuation of its efforts to cultivate emerging talent in the North American League of Legends scene.
“This partnership reflects our continued commitment to growing the North American talent pipeline and supporting the next generation of competitive players,” Cloud9 said in its announcement.
Conviction, currently competing in the NACL Split 1 Playoffs, welcomed the collaboration with enthusiasm. In a public post, the organization said, “Thrilled to partner with Cloud9 for the rest of 2025! We’re excited for the opportunities ahead and can’t wait to see what we’ll build together.”
The Split 1 Playoffs, running from May 15 to June 6, feature the league’s top six teams battling in a double-elimination bracket. All matches are played in a best-of-five format using Fearless Draft rules, which prevent teams from selecting the same champion more than once in a series.
Conviction unveiled its current lineup earlier this year, having acquired the roster from Tempest Gaming in March. The roster includes:
Top: Chris “Horder” Feng
Jungle: James “Kisno” Woo
Mid: Isaac “DARKWINGS” Chou
Bot: Aaron “Chrome” Li
Support: Daniel “Minui” Zhang Mingshui
Head Coach: Samuel “boc” Boudrie
