Riot Games is taking a firm stance on professionalism in the League of Legends EMEA competitive scene, issuing a series of warnings to players and coaches in both the LEC and ERL leagues for unprofessional behavior.
On January 5, Riot's publicly available EMEA Penalty Tracker revealed that 12 warnings had been issued to LEC players and coaches, with additional warnings given to several ERL league members. All warnings cited "conduct unbecoming of an LEC team member," but the specific incidents behind these penalties have not been disclosed. Dot Esports has reached out to Riot for further details and will provide updates as more information becomes available.

In the meantime, journalist Brieuc "LEC Wooloo" Seeger offered some insight on Twitter, noting that some of the players who received warnings suggested their penalties were related to behavior in solo queue. Wooloo also mentioned that while some actions might be seen as unprofessional, nothing particularly severe appeared to have taken place.
This is not the first time Riot has taken action to enforce professionalism in the competitive scene. In 2020, Fnatic was fined 10,000 Euros (about 11,000 USD) for failing to meet a crucial deadline for organizational submissions, while Astralis faced a 5,000 Euro fine for misconduct by a team manager and delays in paying team members.
