According to recent reports, Valve faces accusations of exploiting its market dominance to overcharge 14 million UK consumers. Digital rights campaigner Vicki Shotbolt is spearheading the case, alleging Valve's control of the PC gaming market. These agreements purportedly prevent publishers from offering cheaper prices on competing platforms, leading to excessive commissions of up to 30% on Steam.

The claim, filed at the Competition Appeal Tribunal in London, seeks to challenge Valve's alleged anticompetitive practices under UK competition law. According to the release, Shotbolt aims to rectify this conduct and secure compensation for affected consumers. The legal action is supported by Milberg London LLP, known for pursuing group actions against large corporations.
