Valve has officially revealed three exciting new hardware products: a new Steam Frame VR headset, a next-gen Steam Controller, and an upgraded Steam Machine. These products, which have been the subject of online rumors for some time, are now confirmed and ready to take gaming to the next level.
In the announcement, Valve emphasized that all three devices are designed to complement each other, much like the Steam Deck. According to Valve, these devices will be “optimized for Steam while continuing to operate as open platforms," meaning they'll be compatible with a wide range of systems and games.
A Global Release
The new devices will be available for purchase in regions already supporting the Steam Deck, which include the US, Canada, UK, Europe, and Australia. Valve will also expand sales to countries covered by Komodo, including Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. While prices and exact release dates are still to be confirmed, Valve aims to begin shipping the products in early 2026.
The new Steam Controller builds on the legacy of the original, with advanced features designed to make it an essential tool for all Steam users. Featuring next-gen precision magnetic thumbsticks, full-sized controls, trackpads, a gyro, and grip buttons, it promises to deliver a high-performance, ergonomic experience for gaming across all Steam devices, including PCs, laptops, Steam Deck, Steam Machine, and the new Steam Frame VR.
The updated Steam Machine is built to bring PC gaming to your living room. With a compact design—just a 6-inch cube—it’s powerful, versatile, and quiet enough to fit seamlessly under your TV, on your desk, or anywhere else you want to game. Running SteamOS, the Steam Machine offers the same great experience as the Steam Deck and works with the Steam Controller and other accessories. It’s the perfect choice for anyone who wants powerful gaming on a big screen without the bulk of a traditional gaming PC.
The Steam Frame VR headset is designed to let you experience your entire Steam library in a whole new way. This wireless, lightweight VR headset allows for both VR and non-VR gaming, offering full controller input for a seamless experience across both worlds. Powered by a Snapdragon processor and running SteamOS, it’s designed for easy streaming of Steam games with the same smooth experience as the Steam Deck. The Steam Frame also supports standalone play, meaning you can enjoy immersive VR gaming anywhere, without needing a PC to power it.
