Discord is rolling out a new shopping and gifting experience in partnership with Marvel Rivals. This feature will allow players in the Marvel Rivals Discord server to browse and purchase digital items directly within the app. Players can also create a wishlist of items they want and gift in-game items to friends. Purchased or gifted items will be immediately available in Marvel Rivals.

The new system is aimed at both players and developers. One key benefit is that gifting is not limited to just players of the game, meaning users can gift items to their friends and encourage them to join the game. According to Discord, 20% of all Shop purchases on Discord are gifts, a number that rises to nearly 30% during the holiday season. The company describes this feature as a "natural evolution" of how users connect and celebrate on the platform.

At launch, the feature will be available to users in the U.S., Canada, Ireland, and Oceania, and will only support purchases in USD on the Discord desktop client. Discord plans to expand the feature to more regions and platforms in the future.
