Shipyard Games, a Finnish developer renowned for its mobile title Go City, has quietly shut down after seven years in operation. The studio first announced its closure in May via Discord. Co-founder and CEO Andreas Wedenberg described the situation as "critical," explaining that the company had exhausted its funds and lost support from its investor.

Supercell had invested $2.9 million in Shipyard Games back in 2017, shortly after the studio's inception. It remains unclear why Supercell ceased its investment or when the decision was made.

Shipyard's final release, Wizards & Kingdoms Go, was acknowledged by Wedenberg as having only "1-2 weeks" of content in its early version. With the studio's closure, the game will no longer receive updates and will eventually be taken offline.

In a final message, Wedenberg expressed gratitude to supporters and lamented the inability to complete the game as envisioned, citing financial constraints as the primary obstacle.
