Scottish Esports has officially launched as a Community Interest Company (CIC) aimed at establishing itself as the national esports body for Scotland. The organization has been co-founded by Mark McCready, an esports lecturer and former employee of the British Esports Federation, along with Dale Murray from the Scottish Esports Network and professional Street Fighter competitor Assad ‘Suleymon’ Suliman. Their mission is to support a wide spectrum of gamers, from casual participants to competitive esports athletes.

The company plans to create educational resources, organize in-person events, and facilitate workshops, alongside online initiatives designed to engage the gaming and esports community in Scotland. Scottish Esports also aims to oversee the national teams that will represent Scotland in international competitions, mirroring the structure of Esports Wales.

Mark McCready, CEO of Scottish Esports, shared his vision: “We’re not only building a strong and passionate foundation for competitive video gaming in Scotland — we’re building a community. By delivering national-scale stability, we’re committed to creating a welcoming, safe, and inclusive space where players and teams of all levels can thrive and feel supported. It’s an exciting time for us all to inspire the next generation to learn and explore esports in a more encouraging and positive environment.”
