The Skillhub Online Games Federation (SOGF) and the International Esports Federation (IESF) have announced a collaboration aimed at establishing international esports tournaments in India. This partnership, supported by India’s Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, seeks to position the country as a global leader in online competitive gaming.
In October 2024, representatives from SOGF and IESF met to explore the partnership's potential impact on India’s esports ecosystem. India's political leaders are actively engaging with the esports sector; in April 2024, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held discussions with industry stakeholders and players to address recent developments.

Additionally, in September 2024, SOGF announced a partnership with the International Mind Sports Association (IMSA) to support the development of mind game creators and players.
The IESF continues to host esports competitions globally and recently opened the bidding process for cities interested in hosting the 2025 and 2026 World Esports Championship.
