ESL FACEIT Group has announced the launch of DreamHack Shanghai in 2025, marking the festival's debut in China. This inaugural event will coincide with Hero Esports' Asian Champions League (ACL), which is set to take place in the same city over the same weekend.
Both events will feature top-tier competitions, popular influencers, and DreamHack’s signature attractions, including the expo floor, Artist Alley, and Community Playground. DreamHack is one of ESL FACEIT Group’s largest event brands, renowned for its strong legacy in North America and Europe. Additionally, the company recently confirmed that DreamHack Dallas will be held in May 2025.

The expansion of DreamHack into China is unsurprising, as the country has significantly increased its investment in esports events. Last year, Chengdu hosted major international competitions like Intel Extreme Masters (IEM) and the League of Legends Mid-Season Invitational. Furthermore, both Counter-Strike 2 and League of Legends will return in 2025, including the prestigious League of Legends World Championship.
Like DreamHack, the Asian Champions League will also debut in 2025. Held at the Shanghai Oriental Sports Center, this new multi-title tournament aims to be the most diverse and accessible esports event in the region. The event trailer, released last year, highlighted popular games like Street Fighter, League of Legends, and PUBG.
