Brazilian esports team Alpha7 Esports has won the 2025 PUBG Mobile Global Championship, also known as PMGC. The tournament was one of two major international events held during PUBG UNITED 2025. The competition took place in Bangkok, Thailand, and featured 40 teams from around the world.
The offline event ran from November 24 to December 14, 2025, and included a total prize pool of $3 million. Alpha7 Esports earned the largest share of that prize after finishing at the top of the standings.
Alpha7 reached the global tournament after placing second in the PUBG Mobile Super League Americas Fall 2025 earlier this year. Because of that result, the team started its PMGC journey in a stage called The Gauntlet. This stage included 18 matches played over three days. Alpha7 finished inside the top seven teams, which allowed it to move straight into the Grand Finals.
The PMGC Grand Finals featured 16 teams competing across 18 matches over three days. Well-known teams such as PMGC 2024 winner DPLUS and runner-up Regnum Carya Esports were part of the finals. Other teams also impressed during the event, including R8 Esports, which led The Gauntlet with 154 points, and DRX, which scored 179 points during the Group Stage.
The goal in the Grand Finals was to survive longer than other teams while earning eliminations. On the final day, the tournament used Smash Rules. Under these rules, teams could become match-point eligible after reaching a specific score. For PMGC 2025, that score was set at the top team’s total after 12 games plus 10 extra points. Any match-point team that won a match would instantly become champion.
Alpha7 had a difficult start in the finals. After placing third in the opening match, the team was eliminated early in the next three games. Things changed on day two when Alpha7 won back-to-back matches in games eight and nine. This strong performance pushed the team into the top spots on the leaderboard.
By match 12, Alpha7 was the leading team and set the match-point threshold at 125 points. The team became match-point eligible by match 16 and was the first squad to reach that level. Alpha Gaming and ULF Esports also reached match point later in the tournament.
