Since the release of Final Fantasy 16, Square Enix's value has plummeted by almost $2b. The decline in the company's shares, coupled with a reduction in stake by a significant long-term investor, has contributed to this loss.

Following its peak at ¥7,540 in June , the company's share price has experienced a significant 28% decrease. On Monday, it hit its lowest point of the year at ¥5,381.
