ESL founder and chairman Ralf Reichert will step down from his role at ESL FACEIT Group to lead Esports World Cup Foundation. Ralf Reichert spoke to Esports Insider and stated "do you want to run this’? Do you want to build that global uniting competition that is not run by a commercial entity, that was run by a nonprofit."

Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz announced the Esports World Cup last weekend. The event will take place every year. The tournament will be led by Esports World Cup Foundation. Saudi Arabia recently partnered with British Esports as well.
