Apex Legends pro Christopher "sweetdreams" Sexton suggested a new way to elevate the Apex Legends esports scene. During a recent stream he stated that EA should not aim to increase the prize pool of the ALGS, instead should focus on the 2nd tier tournaments to help organizations. Sweet stated the real reason Apex is still alive and able to bring viewers/players to the game is because of the ALGS and the problem with ALGS is the competitiveness of the league is low due to huge budget differences between teams. Year 3 ALGS Championship prize pool was $2m, and the winners were awarded $600k.
