EVA Air becomes official airline partner for the international esports tournament, marking its debut in the gaming industry.
Esports tournament organiser BLAST has announced a new partnership with EVA Air, naming the Taiwanese airline as the official airline partner for the upcoming BLAST Slam IV Dota 2 event. The tournament is set to run from October 14 to November 9, 2025, in Singapore, with EVA Air’s presence playing a notable role both in the arena and throughout the broadcast.
According to BLAST, the partnership will see EVA Air’s branding featured prominently across event broadcasts and on-site signage. The airline will also engage fans directly with an interactive booth inside the arena from November 7–9, during the tournament's offline playoff stages.
The deal marks EVA Air’s first venture into the esports space, as the airline joins a growing list of aviation brands exploring opportunities within the industry. Other major airlines, including VietJet and Lufthansa, have previously launched esports partnerships, underscoring a broader trend of traditional companies tapping into gaming’s global audience.
“We’re thrilled to welcome EVA Air on board as the Official Airline Partner for BLAST Slam IV,” said James Brown, Commercial Director at BLAST.
“Their commitment to quality service and global connectivity aligns perfectly with our mission to bring world-class esports experiences for fans across the globe.”
BLAST Slam IV is a key part of the organiser’s push into Asia and its global expansion strategy. In late 2024, BLAST signed a multi-year agreement with the Singapore Tourism Board, ensuring that four BLAST events will take place in the country over the coming years.
This fourth iteration of the BLAST Slam will feature a hybrid format. It kicks off with an online round-robin group stage, followed by the Play-In phase and culminating in offline playoff matches in Singapore. The top two teams from the group stage advance directly to the semi-finals, while those placing third to eighth battle through the Play-In for a shot at the title.
