BLAST to Allow Multiview Feature

BLAST.tv is set to revolutionize esports broadcasting at the upcoming Austin Major by becoming the first esports tournament to feature YouTube’s multiview technology—marking a major step forward in how fans engage with live competitive gaming.

The feature, which has previously enhanced viewing experiences for major events like the NFL and Coachella, allows audiences to watch multiple live feeds simultaneously in split-screen format. For the Austin Major, multiview will be available on YouTube for TV and console viewers, covering every stage of the event from the Contenders to the Legends rounds.

BLAST continues to push the boundaries of how esports are delivered to global audiences. Following the success of the 2023 Paris Major, which included a groundbreaking livestream partnership with TikTok and drew a peak of 1.5 million viewers, the organization is now aiming even higher with this latest innovation.

“The BLAST.tv Austin Major is set to be one of our biggest events of the year, and it just got even more exciting with YouTube multiview,” said Faye Malborough, Growth Director at BLAST. “We’re thrilled to break new ground in esports broadcasting, using technology that’s already elevating the experience for fans of traditional sports and live music.”

This will be BLAST’s second Counter-Strike Major, featuring 32 of the world’s top teams competing over three weeks for a $1.25 million prize pool. The tournament will conclude at the state-of-the-art Moody Center in downtown Austin, where tens of thousands of fans are expected to gather for four days of intense arena action and the crowning of the next Major Champions.
