Bitmagic, a generative AI platform, has secured $4m in seed funding led by Korea Investment Partners. Alongside the funding announcement, the company has unveiled its platform's launch on Steam Playtest, enabling users to create 3D games using text and speech prompts.
Investors in the funding round include Supercell, Sisu Game Ventures, and notable angels such as Zak Phelps, former Fortnite Creative senior director of product, and Maarten de Koning from Digital Development Management. Phelps has joined Bitmagic as an advisor, while Koning has been appointed to the developer's board of directors.
The Finnish company aims to "democratize" game development by empowering users to craft fully playable multiplayer games in a matter of seconds through its innovative platform, now accessible on Steam Playtest.
KIP executive director Michael K. Lee stated "After evaluating competitors globally, we found Bitmagic to be significantly ahead of the curve, and we believe they have the potential to redefine the future of game development and user-generated content creation."
