According to Stephen Totilo on social media, Bungie, the developer of Destiny, has been awarded $63k in damages in a legal battle against cheats that infringed on the company's copyright. The jury unanimously agreed that the cheats violated Bungie's intellectual property rights.

However, David Schaefer, the founder of AimJunkies' parent company Phoenix Digital, intends to challenge the verdict. Totilo reported that Schaefer plans to seek dismissal of the verdict and will appeal if unsuccessful.

Bungie's lawyer James Barker stated "We are grateful for the diligence, professionalism, and care exercised by the judge, his staff, and the jury. We're committed to our players and will continue to protect them against cheats, including taking this and future cases all the way to trial."

In 2021, Bungie filed a lawsuit against AimJunkies, alleging that the company had hacked Destiny 2 to gain access to code that could be utilized in creating cheats. This legal action resulted in certain complaints being brought to arbitration.
