Relic Entertainment has regained its independence following a partnership with Emona Capital. According to reports, the venture capital firm invested in Relic Entertainment.
After being acquired by THQ in 2004, the Vancouver studio separated from Sega Europe in late March. Now, it has secured funding to remain independent. Partnering with investment firm Emona Capital, Relic plans to invest in its current property portfolio, including the Company of Heroes and Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War series. Additionally, Emona will assist Relic in collaborating with other publishers and IP owners. CEO Justin Dowdeswell confirmed the studio's return to its roots.
