Deviation Games, an AAA game developer, has announced its closure. The studio was founded in 2020 by Jason Blundell and Dave Anthony, renowned developers known for their work on the Call of Duty: Black Ops franchise. By 2021, Deviation Games had expanded to over 100 employees and secured a deal with PlayStation to develop an original AAA IP. However, the project faced difficulties. Blundell departed from the studio in 2022, and in May of the following year, the company underwent significant layoffs.
Kriste Stull stated "I want to express my deepest gratitude to our entire team. Thank you for all your hard work, dedication, and contributions to Deviation; I'm incredibly grateful for the opportunity to have worked with each and every one of you."
