According to recent reports ENVY might acquire the 3DMAX lineup, bringing five French players back under a tag with deep roots in French Counter-Strike.
Currently nothing is official. Neither side has made a public statement and no fee has been disclosed.
The history
Envy started CS:GO in 2015 and won a Major in its first year, DreamHack Open Cluj-Napoca, with kennyS, NBK-, APEX, Happy and kioShiMa. The organisation left Counter-Strike scene in 2021 after several quiet years.
Mike "hastr0" Rufail announced the reacquisition from OpTic Gaming in early 2025 and has stated, he wants it back in CS. Envy recently posted a tribute to its old French lineup.
Why the players need out
3DMAX's financial problems have been an issue since its 2023 return.
Streamer Sébastien "KRL" Perez warned in September 2024 about more than 25,000 euros in payments were late. By late August 2026, current and former players and staff were making public statements about unpaid salaries, with reporting putting the total around 1.5 million euros inside roughly 2 million in overall club debt. There was also unpaid prize money and sticker revenue sit in the same pile.
First Team Heretics led talks for months before those collapsed in early May. A deal involving French creator CyrilMP4 then also fell apart, with players and staff told on 20 August.
Between these, 3DMAX narrowly missed the Cologne Major, costing sticker income after three consecutive qualifications that had each ended in 12th to 14th, one step short of playoffs.
The 1.5 million figure is reported rather than confirmed by the club.
Where it leaves them
The roster still appears in contention for the PGL Major in Singapore in late November, and Envy picking up an experienced Tier 1 lineup would put it straight back into invite contention rather than rebuilding from scratch.
