Escape from Tarkov Codes: What Actually Works, and a Big Caveat

Escape from Tarkov is a game built entirely around loot, the constant terror of losing your kit, and the grind to rebuild it, so any free gear you can snag without risking a raid is worth grabbing. Battlestate hands out promo codes now and then, usually tied to TarkovTV episodes, major updates, or holidays, redeemable for weapons, meds, roubles, and the occasional bit of nonsense. Below is the current state of play, but read the caveat first, because it's the most important part.

The Honest Caveat Up Front
Here's the thing most codes lists won't tell you plainly: right now, the picture is genuinely murky. Battlestate codes are notoriously short-lived, with some live for only 24 hours, and following the massive Kord Breach season launch on August 3, the code situation is in flux. Some trackers report a fresh batch tied to the new season, others report zero currently-active codes, and the lists don't agree with each other. Codes are also case-sensitive and must be entered in all caps to work. So treat any list, including this one, as "worth trying, not guaranteed," and understand that a code working yesterday says little about today. The only way to know for certain is to try redeeming it and see if it takes.
Codes Worth Trying Right Now
These have appeared on recent active lists and are your best current bets. No promises, but they cost nothing to attempt:
6NU9-UFK1-W2TX-89RW-M96B (and its several reordered variants, which appear to be the same bundle scrambled) PCGAMESN 3DMGAME GAMESPARK LVL80BOSS LVL1SCAV LETMEIN
If a code returns an error, it's almost certainly expired rather than mistyped, assuming you've entered it in caps.
Codes That Have Likely Expired
This long list has circulated on older guides and is mostly, if not entirely, dead by now. They're included for completeness and on the off chance one lingers, but don't get your hopes up:
BOATTRIP, BACKTORAID, 007ATHOME, POWER, POWERMOVE, EAGLEEYE, CARGOSHIP, HOLDMYMETA, KANISTRA, BITCOINS, SPECIALDEAL, SHKREKDIVISION, ELVISVISTA, WILDHUNT, WILWILBE, SCAVYBOI, ITSADRILL, MRPROPER, PAWNSHOP, SOMESTUFF, BANHAMMER, GETWELLBEWELL, ONEMILLIONPLUS, WINTERISHERE, USETHETAPE, SERVERMAN, SMELLOFNAPALM, GIMMEWIRES, INTELPLEASE, PAY2WIN.
The Joke Codes Are Half the Fun
Worth knowing before you feel cheated: Battlestate deliberately salts its code drops with gag rewards, and it's part of the studio's dry sense of humour. The developers have handed out codes redeeming for things like a single roll of duct tape, a bottle of in-game vodka, or a plush bear toy rather than the tactical loot you were hoping for. Codes like ITSADRILL, MRPROPER, and USETHETAPE lean into that bit, and the PAY2WIN code is a pointed self-aware joke given the game's monetisation debates. So if you redeem something and end up with a chocolate bar and a bottle of moonshine instead of a shotgun, that's the intended punchline, not a bug.
How to Redeem
Two routes, both simple:
Website: Log into your Battlestate account, hit the Activate Promo Code option, type the code in caps, and confirm. Rewards land in-game. In-game: Rewards from redeemed codes appear in the Special Comms or messages section inside the game menus. Click "Receive All" to grab everything at once.
The Reality of Tarkov Codes
Set expectations accordingly, because this isn't a game that showers you in freebies. Codes are rare by design, released infrequently, and the best-case cadence is roughly a new batch every six months or so, often around TarkovTV episodes or seasonal events. That scarcity is arguably on-brand for a game obsessed with harsh realism, since Tarkov has never been in the business of handing out free stuff easily. The practical advice is to redeem any working code the moment you spot it rather than saving it, because the window can slam shut within a day, and to keep an eye on Battlestate's social channels or the community Discord for fresh drops. Given the Kord Breach season just landed, there's a decent chance new codes surface soon, so it's worth checking back, but for now, run the "worth trying" list above, shrug off the joke rewards, and don't count on the expired pile.
