Tencent has begun making significant adjustments to the Steam page of its upcoming game Light of Motiram, just weeks after Sony filed a copyright lawsuit claiming the title is a “slavish clone” of its Horizon series.

Originally announced in November by developer Polaris Quest, a Tencent subsidiary, Light of Motiram raised eyebrows almost immediately. Fans of Guerrilla Games’ Horizon Zero Dawn and Horizon Forbidden West quickly noted striking similarities in art style, gameplay elements, and thematic design. Sony responded formally in July with legal action, accusing Tencent of copying one of its “most valuable intellectual property” assets.

In response, Tencent appears to be distancing Light of Motiram from those comparisons.

As reported several LITTLE changes have been made to the game’s Steam presence over the past week. Among the most noticeable updates is a new release window—Q4 2027—now listed on the storefront. The game’s key art has also been swapped out. Gone is the previous image, which featured a female protagonist resembling Horizon’s Aloy. In its place, the new artwork showcases two robotic animals: a bird and a pig.

Tencent has also updated the in-game screenshots, removing several images that echoed Horizon’s visual style. However, the most dramatic shift is in the game’s description, which now carries a noticeably more generic tone.

The original description read:

“In a world overrun by colossal machines, explore the vast open world, build your base of operations, advance technology, train Mechanimals, and take on formidable bosses. Starting from the primitive age, forge a new path of development. Defy the machination, survive with mechanimals.”
