Activision states “The full game releases on October 23 at midnight local time.”

This is for PS5, Xbox Series XS, PC and Switch 2. No platform rollout, no single global timestamp. When your clock hits 12:00 AM on the 23rd, multiplayer is live.

The PC release is new Previous Call of Duty launches unlocked consoles at local midnight while PC waited for one global moment, usually aligned to a US time zone. This year everyone gets the same treatment.

Which means Auckland played roughly a full day before Los Angeles, as midnight rolled west.

Why there’s no multiplayer early access

According to reports, giving some players head start on weapon levels and attachment unlocks creates a gap that doesn’t close, in modes built on everyone starting equal. Campaign and DMZ don’t have that problem, so they went early.

The one workaround

CharlieIntel stated that changing your Call of Duty region to New Zealand in your online profile should unlock multiplayer at that region’s midnight.

Whether it still works after launch day is anyone’s guess, and messing with region settings on a Call of Duty account carries its own risks around matchmaking and server routing.

Before you queue

The install is around 115GB. Worth confirming your preload finished rather than discovering it at five past midnight.

Campaign reviews was great, with the game sitting Very Positive on Steam at roughly 91% from the single-player portion alone. Multiplayer is the part that decides how the year actually goes, and the August beta was not a success.
