Microsoft has reached a settlement with US federal regulators, the company will pay $20m and implement increased protections for child gamers. The settlement follows an investigation by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), which found that Microsoft had illegally collected data on children who had Xbox accounts. Among the violations identified by the FTC was Microsoft's failure to adequately inform parents about its data collection policies.
