The NBA, NBPA (National Basketball Players Association), and 2K have agreed to extend their longstanding partnership through a new multiyear global deal, further cementing NBA 2K's position as the premier basketball video game franchise. The agreement also covers continued collaboration with the NBA G League and USA Basketball, ensuring the series will maintain its reputation for realism and authenticity.
While financial terms were not disclosed, the companies confirmed that NBA 2K has surpassed 150 million units sold globally—highlighting the franchise’s commercial success and cultural impact.
In a major addition to their renewed partnership, the NBA and 2K announced the launch of NBA Take-Two Media, described as “a modern entertainment company” that will blend competitive gaming, original content, social media-first programming, and live events to connect fans and players in new ways.
“We are immensely pleased to continue our longstanding, highly successful partnership with the NBA and the NBPA and look forward to building upon the record-setting achievements that we have accomplished together,” said Strauss Zelnick, chairman and CEO of Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of 2K.
