Ubisoft has confirmed that Rainbow Six Mobile will officially launch worldwide on February 23 for iOS and Android devices. The global release follows several years of closed testing, regional soft launches and multiple delays, marking a major milestone for the long running tactical shooter franchise.

Rainbow Six Mobile adapts the core formula of Rainbow Six Siege for mobile play. The game features three 5v5 multiplayer modes, including a team deathmatch option and two bomb focused modes inspired by Siege’s signature objective based gameplay. Ubisoft has stressed that the title was “developed exclusively” for mobile platforms, rather than being a direct port of the PC and console experience.

At launch, players will have access to a range of maps, including locations that will be instantly recognisable to long time fans of the series. More than 20 operators are available from day one, each with unique abilities and gadgets, and Ubisoft has committed to expanding the roster and overall content offering with every new season.

While the global release is set for late February, Rainbow Six Mobile has already gone live in select territories. Players in Poland, France, Canada and parts of Latin America can access the game early, with the rest of the world joining next month.

The mobile release adds a new chapter to the Rainbow Six franchise, which has a history stretching back more than two decades. The series began in 1998 with Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six, a tactical shooter focused on realism, planning and squad based gameplay. Over the years, the franchise evolved through multiple sequels before reaching its modern era with the launch of Rainbow Six Siege in 2015.

Siege became a defining title for Ubisoft, transforming Rainbow Six into a live service powerhouse with a strong esports presence and a steadily growing operator roster. Its emphasis on destruction, operator abilities and high stakes tactical play helped it maintain a large player base nearly a decade after release.
