Roblox has unveiled a new Learning Hub designed to provide students with easy access to a wide range of educational content—all within the interactive environment of its gaming platform.
The initiative, launched during the peak of the summer holidays for students in the Northern Hemisphere, aims to help young learners “learn while playing” by gathering dozens of educational experiences into one central location on Roblox.
Spanning traditional academic subjects like math, English, and computer science, as well as life skills and broader knowledge topics, the Learning Hub is tailored to a variety of age groups. The hub is part of Roblox Corporation’s broader effort to bridge entertainment and education, particularly during months when children are out of school.
One of the standout additions to the platform is Planet Planners, a forthcoming experience developed in collaboration with the BBC’s educational brand, BBC Bitesize. Aimed at learners aged 11 to 14, the game focuses on critical global issues such as natural disaster preparedness and urban planning. The experience is designed to align with both the UK’s national curriculum and the U.S. K–12 educational standards.
“BBC Bitesize is committed to offering world-class educational experiences to all learners, and game-based learning is a great way for students to engage with complex subject content while developing skills like critical thinking and problem-solving,” said Oonagh Jaquest, executive producer of BBC Bitesize at BBC Education.
Jaquest emphasized the collaborative nature of the project: “The Roblox team has worked collaboratively with us to develop a really rich experience, which lets young people explore diverse locations around the world, see their decisions play out tangibly in the environment, and even play as class groups.”
