Nikola "NiKo" Kovač of G2 Esports is set to transfer to Team Falcons after the Perfect World Shanghai Major, according to reports. French leaker Sebastien "KRL" Perez and Sheep Esports both confirm the transfer deal, valued between $1 and $1.2 million, is in place, with NiKo expected to sign a three-year contract starting January 1, 2025.
This marks the second attempt by Falcons to recruit NiKo, who previously decided to stay with G2 for the 2024 season. Falcons, despite acquiring Emil "Magisk" Reif and Danny "zonic" Sørensen, have not met their ambitious goals, with their top achievement in 2024 being a top-four finish at IEM Katowice.
"NiKo" joined iNation in 2012. He had brief stints with e-Sports.rs and iNation again in early 2013 before joining Team Refuse in August 2013. After returning to iNation in November 2013, he moved to GamePub in December 2013. NiKo joined aimface in August 2014, then returned to iNation in January 2015. He subsequently joined mousesports in March 2015, with a period of inactivity from August 2015 to February 2017. He rejoined mousesports until February 2017, when he transitioned to FaZe Clan. NiKo played for FaZe Clan until October 2020, when he joined G2 Esports, where he remains a prominent player.
