Krafton has confirmed that Striking Distance Studios, the developer behind The Callisto Protocol, has experienced another round of layoffs. In a statement to PC Gamer, Krafton explained that an undisclosed number of employees were let go in an effort to "remain agile" and ensure the studio's continued operations.
"Striking Distance Studios has reduced the size of its team to remain agile, fostering a sustainable environment for the studio at its current stage of development," the statement read. "The studio remains operational, and these changes will not affect any planned ongoing support. No further changes are expected at this time."

Rumors about the layoffs began circulating last week, with former concept artist Jesse Lee sharing on LinkedIn that "most of the devs were laid off." Similarly, former animation director Zach Volker mentioned "lots of layoffs" in a separate post. This follows an earlier round of layoffs in August 2023, when Striking Distance Studios let go of 32 employees after releasing DLC for The Callisto Protocol.
