Versus Evil announced the closure of the company. Lance James, the head of production at Versus Evil, verified that the entire team of the indie publisher has been let go. Established in 2013, Versus Evil was acquired by TinyBuild along with its QA studio Red Cerberus in 2021.

Simultaneously, TinyBuild disclosed the resolution of a legal dispute with the former owner of Versus Evil.
