Ninjas in Pyjamas have made a major change to their Counter-Strike lineup, benching Portuguese rifler Rafael "arrozdoce" Wing after six months with the team. Taking his place is Polish rising star Kacper "xKacpersky" Gabara, who joins the roster on loan from ENCE.
NiP were in advanced discussions with ENCE to secure xKacpersky, who previously developed his skills with Ninjas in Pyjamas’ academy team, Young Ninjas. Highly sought-after in recent months, the 19-year-old was also on G2’s radar before they opted to sign Matúš "MATYS" Šimko instead.
xKacpersky’s performances in 2025 have made him one of the most promising prospects in the tier-two scene. During his time with ENCE, he emerged as their top performer, averaging a 1.15 rating and playing a pivotal role in the team’s consistent runs deep into second-tier tournaments.
Meanwhile, arrozdoce’s departure from the active lineup brings a short but eventful stint to a close. The 23-year-old joined NiP at the beginning of 2025 after a breakout year with SAW in 2024. Initially sidelined while NiP fielded veteran Audric "JACKZ" Jug to earn wildcard entries, arrozdoce eventually earned his spot in the starting five.
Though NiP struggled in the early months — even failing to qualify for several CCT-level online tournaments — momentum began to shift in April. The team surprised many with a strong qualifying campaign for PGL Astana, which marked a turning point in their form.
A tournament victory at Fragadelphia Las Vegas, a solid playoff appearance at PGL Astana, and several respectable finishes online helped NiP climb the VRS rankings significantly. They entered the summer player break just inside the top 20, signaling a resurgence in form after a rocky start to the year.
