Rumors are swirling in the gaming community that Ubisoft is working on a brand-new multiplayer shooter. According to multiple gaming insiders, early concept art and even a development screenshot of the unannounced game have already surfaced online.
Ubisoft is no stranger to shooters. Over the past four decades, the company has built major franchises such as Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six, The Division, and Far Cry. However, its biggest long-term success in the multiplayer FPS scene remains Rainbow Six Siege. With other major publishers like PlayStation’s Bungie and EA expanding into competitive online shooters, it seems Ubisoft may be preparing to take another shot at the genre this time, with a sci-fi twist.
The rumor began when Twitter/X user Shiny posted details about a new Ubisoft project supposedly being built in Unreal Engine 5. The game reportedly features large-scale competitive multiplayer, crossplay support, and a futuristic setting.
Soon after, another leaker, 6leaks, shared screenshots that seem to support Shiny’s claims. The images allegedly tied to a project called “Project Scout” include concept art, a loading screen, and what looks like an in-progress gameplay shot. Visible elements include a compass, “crew level” indicator, and part of a character model, suggesting team-based or co-op mechanics.
At this time, Ubisoft has not confirmed the existence of Project Scout or any new multiplayer FPS in development. The company has been contacted for comment, but no official response has been released yet.
