G2 Esports emerged victorious at BLAST London following a gripping Grand Final clash against Team Vitality, sealing their championship with a remarkable overtime victory on Map 4. The win marks a significant milestone for G2, who demonstrated resilience and poise under pressure throughout the tournament.

The final series was tightly contested, with Vitality putting up strong performances on the second and third maps. However, G2 Esports persistence paid off on Inferno, the fourth map, where they overturned a 6-1 deficit to claim the map 16-12 in regular time—highlighting the squad’s mental fortitude and tactical discipline.

“[The roster] can play very much stronger under pressure,” said Matúš ‘matys’ Šimko in a post-semifinal interview with Esports News UK—a statement that proved prophetic in the final moments of the tournament.

G2’s path to the trophy was anything but easy. Their campaign began with a win over Danil ‘donk’ Kryshkovets and Team Spirit in the Closed Qualifier Group Stage. They continued their strong form by eliminating FaZe Clan, led by veteran IGL Finn ‘karrigan’ Andersen, in the Quarterfinals. In the Semifinals, G2 overcame a formidable FURIA lineup, further solidifying their credentials as title contenders.

Their consistent dominance throughout the bracket not only earned them a spot in the Grand Final but also increased their standing among Counter-Strike betting circles, with odds steadily shifting in their favor after each victory.
