NetherRealm Studios has unveiled the Khaos Reigns expansion for Mortal Kombat 1, which introduces a brand new story mode and Kombat Pack 2, along with the return of a beloved feature from the series’ past.

The Khaos Reigns expansion will add six new characters to Mortal Kombat 1 as downloadable content. Kombat Pack 2 includes three characters—Sektor, Cyrax, and Noob Saibot—available on launch day, while the remaining three guest characters will be Scream's Ghostface, Conan the Barbarian (as portrayed by Arnold Schwarzenegger), and the T-1000 from Terminator 2: Judgment Day (played by Robert Patrick). Release dates for the guest characters have not yet been announced.

In addition to the new content, the Khaos Reigns bundle will include the first Kombat Pack, featuring Quan-Chi, Ermac, Takeda, Omni-Man, Homelander, and Peacemaker.

The expansion also brings back a fan-favorite feature as a free update: Animalities. This feature includes special Fatality animations where fighters transform into creatures to violently finish off their opponents.
