Delves are a new type of PvE content in The War Within, designed for solo players or small groups to explore and conquer dangerous underground locations. Here’s everything you need to know about Delves, from unlocking and completing them to rewards and locations.
Unlocking Delves
Main Storyline Requirement: Begin the main storyline for The War Within. Automatic Unlock: The first Delve, Earthcrawl Mines, will become available when you reach Freywold Village. Initial Quest: Complete the quest “Delve into the Earth” to access your first Delve.
Completing Delves
Gameplay: Each Delve features unique themes and bosses. Typical tasks include killing mobs, rescuing individuals, or facing bosses.
Solo or Group Play:
Solo: You can complete Delves alone with an AI companion.
Groups: Small groups of 2-4 will have a seasonal companion; groups of 5 must venture alone.
Companion: Level up your companion, currently Brann for this season. Enhance their abilities with Curios and choose their role as a Healer or DPS.
Boons: Gain special powers for each Delve. For instance, in Earthcrawl Mines, defeating the Invasive Species mob grants Fungal Footpads for a healing double jump, useful for navigating spider webs.
Delve Tiers
Delves have multiple tiers reflecting their difficulty and rewards:
Tier 1: Automatically available upon unlocking Delves. Tiers 2-3: Unlock upon reaching level 80. Tier 4 and Beyond: Earned after completing the main campaign and equipping at least level 548 gear. Completing higher tiers unlocks progressively more challenging content up to Tier 11.
Rewards from Delves
Rewards vary by difficulty and include:
- Loot: Ranges from Heroic to Mythic+ rarity.
- Quest Items: Essential for various quests.
- Resources: Such as Undercoins and Resonant Crystals.
- Cosmetics and Personal Loot: Aligned with your class.
- Weekly World Events: Extra rewards from participating in these events.
- Great Vault System: Access exclusive collectibles like Delve-themed mounts.
- Achievements: Unlock specific tasks related to Delves.
