DreamHack, one of the largest esports festivals, has been held at Elmia in Jönköping since 2001. It has now been announced that DreamHack Winter will relocate to Stockholm in 2024. Additionally, the status of DreamHack Summer is in doubt, with no confirmed plans for its occurrence in 2024, either in Sweden or abroad.

Karolina Törnblad, event manager at Destination Jönköping, confirmed to SVT that Jönköping will no longer host DreamHack events in the future. This move raises questions about the festival's future and its role in the global esports scene. Elmia, which has become synonymous with DreamHack, will no longer serve as the venue for the festival. The future format and location of DreamHack remain uncertain.
