Bliazard is bringing back the chaos and nostalgia of the original Overwatch with a new limited-time mode for Overwatch 2. Starting Tuesday, Overwatch: Classic will let players relive the game as it was at launch, with the original 21 heroes and 12 maps, plus all the unbalanced, wild gameplay that defined Overwatch in 2016.

In Overwatch: Classic, two teams of six will face off without any role restrictions, and heroes will have their original abilities from launch. That means D.Va and Junkrat can still self-destruct, Symmetra can deploy six sentry turrets and give teammates shields, Hanzo’s scatter arrow is back, and Mercy can resurrect the entire team in one go. And if you're feeling bold, why not run a full squad of six Winstons, or bring back the Goats and Moth metas for some 2024 fun?
The mode will feature four classic game modes—Assault, Control, Escort, and Hybrid—across a selection of maps including Temple of Anubis, Hanamura, and Volskaya Industries. Players will only have access to the original 21 heroes, and all will wear their default skins as they did back in the day.
